Design-build construction method is a project delivery method where a single entity, the designer - builder is responsible for design and construction of the project.

THE TRADITIONAL CONSTRUCTION METHOD OF 2 SEPARATE ENTITIES

  • Architect conceptualizes and creates plans.
  • Contractor bids and builds based on plans.

2 separate agencies have two separate contracts having no accountability with each other. Hence, it is very difficult to collaborate, coordinate and maintain the speed and quality of construction leading to finger pointing, poor quality and delays and cost escalations.
